Disaster Services

Red Cross disaster relief focuses on meeting people's immediate emergency disaster-caused needs. When a disaster threatens or strikes, the Red Cross provides shelter, food, and physical and mental health services to address basic human needs. The goal is to enable those individuals and families affected by disaster to resume their normal daily activities independently. These services are provided free of charge to those affected by disaster thanks to the generosity of local donors.

The Red Cross also feeds emergency workers, including fire, police and other first responders, during situations where they are at a scene for an extended period of time. Through our network of people and resources, the Southwest Washington Red Cross responds to disasters, from a fire in a single family home to flooding that affects hundreds or thousands, in Cowlitz, Clark, Wahkiakum, Pacific, Skamania and Klickitat counties.
